Atmos Renewables welcomes WA Government PPA supporting Parron Maam Marang Wind Farm
23 April 2026

Atmos Renewables welcomes the Western Australian Government’s award of a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to its Parron Maam Marang Wind Farm, marking a significant step forward in delivering new large-scale renewable energy capacity to the state.
The agreement, announced by the Government of Western Australia, underpins the development of the Parron Maam Marang Wind Farm – a 470MW project co-developed by Atmos Renewables – and forms part of a broader program to bring more than 1GW of new wind generation online in Western Australia.
The PPA provides the long-term revenue certainty required to unlock investment and move the project into delivery, supporting Western Australia’s transition away from coal-fired generation and strengthening the reliability of the state’s future energy system.
Nigel Baker, CEO of Atmos Renewables, said the agreement represents more than a single project milestone – it reflects the growing role of private sector developers in delivering the next generation of energy infrastructure at scale.
“This agreement is a critical enabler for getting new renewable capacity built in Western Australia – not in theory, but on the ground.
“The energy transition is now firmly in the delivery phase. What matters is bringing forward projects that are bankable, constructible and capable of supporting the system as it evolves.
“Parron Maam Marang Wind Farm is a strong example of that. It’s a large-scale project with the right fundamentals – resource quality, location and partners – and this PPA provides the certainty needed to move at pace.
“We see Western Australia as a key market for Atmos, and this agreement reflects both the strength of the state’s pipeline and the importance of collaboration between government and developers to deliver it.”
The Parron Maam Marang Wind Farm is expected to play a meaningful role in supporting Western Australia’s energy transition, contributing to emissions reduction targets while helping meet growing demand for reliable, renewable electricity.
The project also reinforces Atmos Renewables’ broader development pipeline across Australia, as the company continues to progress a portfolio of wind, solar and battery storage assets aligned to the needs of both the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Western Australia’s Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM).
With multiple projects advancing toward construction and energisation, Atmos is focused on delivering infrastructure that supports both decarbonisation and system stability – ensuring the transition is not only ambitious, but achievable.ent and engagement with First Peoples; working together to deliver projects that reflect Country, with respect and mutual opportunity,” said Nigel Baker.
