560MW Wind Farm, Western Australia
Kulin West Wind Farm (KWWF)
The 560MW Kulin West Wind Farm Project site is located approximately 12km north-west of the township of Kulin West, and approximately 210km south-east of Perth. The Project is located within the shires of Corrigin and Kulin, in the West Australian Wheatbelt region. The Wind Farm is strategically located to harness the region’s abundant wind resources and would significantly contribute to Western Australia’s ambitious decarbonization goals, whilst also supporting the local economy through job creation, infrastructure investment, and on-going community benefit support.
Kulin West Wind Farm is a joint development between Nomad Energy (Nomad) and Atmos Renewables. The Project will involve up to 78 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), contributing up to 560MW of power output, which will be able to power 250,000 homes in the region.
Environmental studies are currently underway, with Development Approval expected in 2026. Construction will commence in 2027, and the Project is expected to reach commercial operation, and begin supplying power to the SWIS network by 2029.
A Wind Monitoring campaign is also currently underway, with Met-mast and SoDAR monitoring from mid-2024, and on-going to determine Energy Yield potential at site.

Community
Local community consultation is vital to the success of the Project.
Our stakeholder consultation has commenced and will continue throughout the development of the project to ensure local perspectives and concerns are heard and addressed during the design of the Project.
The Kulin West Wind Farm will bring a range of benefits to the region including job opportunities, support for local businesses and suppliers, and substantial direct investment in the region via the Project’s Community Benefit Fund. The Benefit Fund will be co-designed with the community to ensure it delivers meaningful outcomes for the community and fosters long-term, sustainable benefits.
Local Contractor and Supplier Opportunities
We have a robust local engagement strategy and is committed to creating jobs for local people and engaging with Indigenous and local suppliers. Whether it’s earthworks, infrastructure, building contractors, machinery operators and engineering, or accommodation, administration, catering, freight and cleaners – a number of skills and suppliers will be required during the construction phase of the project.
The proposed project will be delivered for and on behalf of Atmos via Main Contractors. The main contractors will be responsible for subcontracting a range of skilled services and suppliers. As part of our key objectives for the project, Atmos will continue to work closely with its main contractors to ensure the delivery and quality of opportunities for local and First Nations peoples and suppliers.
We encourage local suppliers, businesses and job seekers to register their details if you would like to be included in opportunities to supply goods and services for consideration by our main contractors.
