Now in its 10th year, the Coonooer Bridge Community Grants Program provides financial support for projects that contribute to the social, economic and environmental sustainability of the community in the vicinity of the wind farm.

Applications for the 2024 Community Grants Program were open through September. This year nine community projects will share in $25,000 in grants funding. These projects include:

  • Charlton Courthouse Gallery – Vacuum cleaner and promotional banner flags
  • Charlton Golf Club – Sandscape cups and flags
  • Charlton Traffic Safety Education Centre – Facility repair refurbishment project
  • Coonooer Bridge Community Centre – Coonooer Bridge beautification project
  • Connooer Bridge Hall (Ladies Community) – Annual Christmas tree celebration
  • St Arnaud Brass Band – Stainless steel enhancement for Brass Band kitchen
  • St Arnaud Historical Society – St Arnaud Historical Society calendar
  • St Arnaud Primary School – Energy breakthrough team

We look forward to seeing these projects completed and encourage local groups to submit new projects in September next year.

Coonooer Bridge wind farm approved
The Coonooer Bridge Wind Farm has been approved by the Buloke Shire Council. The project is the first in the country to include neighbouring landholders as owners and the first approval in the State in over 2 years.
