Atmos Renewables acquires its 16th renewable energy asset
22 October 2024
22 October 2024:
Atmos Renewables (Atmos) has acquired the Coonooer Bridge Wind Farm (Coonooer) from Eurus Energy.
Located in northwestern Victoria, Coonooer is a 20 MW wind farm which commenced operations in 2016. The wind farm was built by Vestas Australian Wind Technology Pty Limited and is supported by a 20-year Warranty, Operation and Maintenance agreement. The wind farm’s turbines are similar to those of Atmos’s nearby wind farms of Cherry Tree and Kiata. Coonooer’s revenue is underpinned by a long-term offtake arrangement with the ACT Government.
Nigel Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Atmos, said the acquisition of Coonooer Bridge Wind Farm is not the largest that Atmos has undertaken but it is a welcome addition to Atmos’s operating portfolio.
“The acquisition of Coonooer Bridge Wind Farm will integrate seamlessly with our existing portfolio of wind and solar assets across each state of the National Electricity Market (NEM), supported by Coonooer’s long-term offtake and maintenance agreements”, Mr Baker said.
With this acquisition, Atmos now owns interests in 16 renewable energy assets, generating 2.6 TWh of electricity, which will power 500,000 homes and offset 1.7 million tonnes of carbon emissions, making it one of the top renewable energy generators in the Australian market.
