Atmos Renewables appoints CEO

Atmos Renewables (Atmos), has announced the appointment of Nigel Baker to the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Atmos, the renewable energy platform owned by Igneo Infrastructure Partners, appointed Mr Baker to the newly-created role to lead the integration of its recent acquisitions and drive ongoing growth of the company.

Baker has more than 20 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector and most recently held the role of Executive General Manager, Generation & Trading at Tilt Renewables where he was responsible for the operations of more than 600MW of wind farms across Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to that, Baker held senior operations and executive positions with Pacific Hydro both in Australia and Chile, where he was the General Manager of Pacific Hydro’s Chilean business and CEO of a renewable energy joint venture between Pacific Hydro and Statkraft of Norway.

Baker’s appointment marks the commencement of Atmos’ strategy to build a highly capable internal management team as it looks to expand its renewables footprint in Australia.

Daniel Timms, Chairman of Atmos Renewables, said, “We are pleased to have appointed a highly experienced sector specialist to lead the integration of the 12 recently acquired asset interests and build out of the team.”

Atmos Renewables’ management capability will be further bolstered with the experienced team from EGP, following the acquisition by Atmos of the renewables company.

“I am very excited to join the Atmos Renewables business and the opportunity to lead the optimisation of the existing portfolio as well as to grow Atmos’ footprint and capabilities in line with the demands for further renewable energy development in this market”, Baker said.

Atmos Renewables was created as a vehicle for Igneo Infrastructure Partners to invest in and support Australia’s transition to a decarbonised energy market.

Baker started his new role on 9 May, 2022.
